Online Jewellery design & Illustration Course

The HJI Online Jewellery Design & Illustration Course allows students to develop the technical training and the creative process to master jewellery artistry and design.

Lead by HJI’s founder and Creative Director, Nathalie Melville, the one-on-one online training allows you to learn, practice and perfect your jewellery design skills, and hand rendering techniques to create professional illustrations of jewellery. No design experience is necessary.

During this consultation, a member of our HJI team will understand your objectives and goals. We will work with you to curate the perfect course that meets your needs and schedule.

Online private sessions

Once scheduled, you will have regular one-on-one sessions to start developing your design skills. Each session is 2.5 hours long. All courses will be conducted using an online conferencing tool called Zoom.

What tools do I need?

• A computer

• A stable internet connection for video conferencing

• A webcam and microphone

• Design tools

What are the different techniques and skills you will learn?

CREATIVE PROCESS : Learn to express your own unique style from concept mood boards through to design development and artistic rendering.

1. Creative process - design development & research

COLOUR RENDERING : Use gouache to create technically accomplished designs. In three separated views, learn to colour render fine metals, diamonds and coloured gemstones. Use gouache and paint to create a hand-rendered illustration of an engagement ring with diamonds or precious stones.
